BIM Designer
Bring your field experience into the model. We're looking for a detail-driven BIM Designer to join our coordination team.
About the Role
Spatial BIM is looking for a BIM Designer to develop and coordinate mechanical and plumbing models across commercial, healthcare, and industrial projects. You'll work alongside a team that started in the field — pipefitters and plumbers who moved into BIM — so field-earned judgment matters as much as software skill here.
This role is based out of our Norway, Iowa office, with occasional site visits.
What You'll Do
- Develop mechanical and plumbing models in Revit from design documents and field conditions
- Represent your trade in BIM coordination meetings, resolving clashes with Architect, Structural, and MEP partners
- Produce fabrication and installation drawings that hold up in the field
- Communicate directly with project managers, foremen, and other trade partners
What We're Looking For
- Experience in mechanical, plumbing, or pipefitting trades — field experience is highly valued
- Working knowledge of Revit and/or Navisworks (training available for the right candidate)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read construction drawings
- Comfortable communicating with tradespeople and project teams alike
Nice to Have
- UA apprenticeship or journeyman status
- Prior BIM/VDC coordination experience
